As a company, if we could choose a specific job to do week in week out, it would be this.
Not only are these projects pleasing to the eye, but they also have a great background history.
The History
Dating back to the early 1900s, this grade 3 listed building has royal connections. During King George’s reign, he used to travel up north to visit the famous Hartlepool Marina docks.
Upon one of his visits, he required a specific meeting room which turned out to be the room which we restored!
The Hartlepool council went through great expense to renovate this room to the king’s standard – it turns out King George never even turned up!
Due to years of water damage, the beautiful Cornice within the grand room slowly deteriorated and fell down. This is where we came in.
Upon Surveying the Damage, we started to remove the embellishments to create moulds to replicate them, this one Cornice alone was made up of 6 different moulds!
After a 2 week spell, we finally had all the moulds replicated and casted up ready to install which took a further week.
Once this process was complete, the client asked up to re-skim his ceiling to hide any air line crack and patches that have appeared over the years.
We had the privalage to be invited back once the room had been painted, trust me with I say this, these pictures don’t do this room justice!
